The Dangers of Glyphosate: Is Your Food "Round-Up Ready?"

glyphosate back to natural health

We know that pesticide contamination of our food is a bad thing, but are we really aware of the implications pesticides and herbicides like Monsanto's famous Round-Up herbicide are having on our health?

The growing list of health ailments that can be attributed to the toxic chemicals our bodies have to process on a daily basis is truly shocking.

Never before in history has it been more important to employ detoxification strategies like infrared saunas, coffee enemas, and nutritional balancing to protect and heal the body from toxic build-up.

Here’s a good example of how glyphosate can wreak havoc on the health of an entire population.

In the span of twenty years (from 1990-2010) the incidence of celiac disease went from 27,000 people to a shocking 77,000 people being diagnosed as celiac in America.

This is in direct correlation with when Monsanto started spraying Round-Up on wheat crops to produce greater yields.

This is illustrated beautifully in the following graph:

Keep in mind that this is just the reported number of people who are clinically diagnosed with celiac disease, this does not account for the additional thousands of people suffering from sub-clinical gluten sensitivity that creates autoimmune type symptoms in the body such as rashes, fatigue, constipation, inflammation, and digestive distress, just to name a few.

It’s no wonder that gluten-free diets are all the rage!

It isn’t for the sake of being trendy, for many people it is out of necessity to try and regain their health.

Glyphosate has a cumulative effect in the body just like any other environmental toxin.

As glyphosate builds up in the body over time and congests the liver, which is responsible for over 300 different functions, symptoms begin to manifest themselves because the liver is unable to keep up with the toxic load.

Glyphosate also inflames the intestines, increasing intestinal permeability and the incidence of leaky gut syndrome.

It is when undigested proteins begin leaking from the intestinal lining that the real symptoms begin to occur.

The issue with this is that even if someone were to remove wheat from the diet, at this point the damage to the intestinal wall has been done leaving you more prone to other food allergies.

Glyphosate also strips your body of vital vitamins and minerals since it inhibits the gut from absorbing the nutrient content in food.

Combined with the already low mineral content in today’s soil, you get an idea of why every patient I see has mineral deficiencies.

Unfortunately, glyphosate contamination in the food supply doesn’t begin or end with wheat.

There are many other crops that are made to be “Round-Up ready,” namely, GMOs.

The reason that GMO crops are so tempting to corporations and farmers alike is because they are very resistant to unpredictable weather conditions and are made to be heavily sprayed with pesticides and herbicides which makes them less work to grow since they have a lot less likelihood of dying prior to harvest.

That means more profit and less time spent in the fields.

But, like anything, taking the easy way out can come with major downsides.

When you mess with mother nature, there are going to be consequences.

Like stated previously, all of these herbicides and pesticides accumulate in the body and if not flushed out with a detoxification protocol or by other means, will eventually lead to chronic illness.

I hope you’re beginning to understand why I never stops stating the importance of detoxification and mineral balancing.

If that wasn’t enough, glyphosate contamination doesn’t just occur in conventional or GMO food products.

Cross-contamination occurs to the point where if you tested any crop or food product today it would have at least some glyphosate residue present.

The crops that consistently test highest for glyphosate are grains (including gluten-free grains).

Perhaps this partially explains the rising popularity of grain-free diets like the Paleo or Primal diet.

To give you an idea of how prevalent glyphosate is in our food supply, especially in processed goods, here’s a chart of the glyphosate content of popular food products (keep in mind the legal limit of glyphosate in the United Kingdom is .01 ppb and 20 ppb in the United States) :

But it’s not all doom and gloom.

Where there is a problem there is always a solution.

With doctor-monitored nutritional balancing protocols combined with intelligent detoxification protocols we can rid the body of glyphosate accumulation.

We also make it a point to educate our patients on how to best select foods to minimize exposure to these toxins in accordance with their oxidation rate and existing food allergies.

Remember, knowledge is power and there has never been an issue that mankind has created that can not also be solved by mankind.
